Auto-Rain has installed systems in all sizes of garden, from a window box to large communal gardens. We have the experience and ability to install all types of automatic watering system. The cost can vary between several hundred pounds for a small micro irrigation system fed from a mains water supply to several thousand pounds for a system feeding several zones from a tank and pump. Most multizone systems cost between 3 and 5 thousand pounds.
Saving Water
Automatic watering saves water. It puts water where it is needed without wastage. An automatic watering system fitted with a rainfall sensor or climate monitoring system can save at least 30% of the amount of water used on your garden, as well as eliminating the time you or you gardener spend watering the garden. Most gardeners like to have their plants watered at night when they take in moisture more readily and evaporation is minimal.

Micro IrrigationFor most small and medium gardens, Micro-Irrigation is one of the most economical ways to keep your plants growing properly. It is unobtrusive and applies the water gently either by small sprinklers or drippers.
Drip lines or Soaker Hoses are even more economical with water for applications such as newly planted hedges. They can be controlled automatically, but are rather more expensive to install. |
Pop-Up SprinklersLarger gardens need larger sprinklers. For lawns and large beds, pop-up sprinklers are installed just below the surface where they are invisble when not in use and can be mown over. Water Board regulations require a pump and tank when pop-ups are used. Pop-ups can throw water up to 15m so it is not normally necessary to disturb the lawn to install them , and any size or shape of lawn can be watered using this method. Pop-ups are an excellent way to keep your lawn green throughout th hottest summer.
